was born and raised in the North Lake Tahoe area. Her musical education began at the age of six, when her parents signed her up for piano lessons. At nine, Autumn picked up the viola, and started playing in youth orchestras in Reno. Viola became her primary focus throughout her youth, and she dove hard into her classical music studies. When it was time for college, Autumn was accepted into Oberlin, where she began studying classical guitar and experimenting with songwriting. Autumn majored in Musical Studies, which allowed her to diversify her education by learning audio engineering, theory, musicology, and lyricism. After college, she moved to Asheville, NC where she started her own teaching studio while playing viola with the Brevard Philharmonic and performing solo gigs as a singer/songwriter. Autumn’s lessons combine curriculum teaching with a student-driven approach– ensuring that her students have both the technical and creative skills to make music they are passionate about. She is open to a variety of styles and genres, but her favorite things to teach are; beginning classical guitar, classical viola and violin, fiddle tunes, songwriting, and music theory.
