The "Celebration of Women in Music," concert is in partnership with Truckee-Donner Recreation and Park District. Held at the Truckee River Regional Park, the event is deeply rooted in our commitment to transforming the music industry's gender dynamics. By showcasing and celebrating female singer-songwriters, female-fronted, and female-populated acts, this event not only highlights the extraordinary talents of women in music but also educates the audience about the historical underrepresentation of women in the industry.

The Celebration of Women in Music fosters a sense of unity and engagement by bringing together people of all backgrounds to support and appreciate female musicians, encouraging a collective approach to addressing gender inequality in the music industry and promoting inclusivity.

With an anticipated attendance of over 1000 people, this family friendly event is designed to be a welcoming and inclusive environment. It offers an opportunity for attendees of all ages to enjoy and learn from the rich musical performances.

The Celebration of Women in Music is not just a concert; it's a movement towards a more inclusive and equitable music industry, embodying our core values in its essence and execution.

Why: A 2020 study by the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative at the University of Southern California highlighted a striking gender gap in the industry, revealing that less than 13% of songwriters and a mere 3% of music producers are women. Our event aims to challenge and change this narrative by celebrating and elevating the talents of women and girls in music.
